Experience Vienna on a Budget — Here's How

Vienna is considered one of the most liveable cities in the world — but also not exactly cheap. The good news: With the right tips, you can fully enjoy Vienna even on a small budget.

Free Culture

Every first Sunday of the month, many Viennese museums offer free admission — including the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the Albertina. The Belvedere also has regular free days.

Free all year round: The Prater with its huge park, the Danube Island, and the Vienna Woods.

Eating on a Budget

At the Naschmarkt you'll find affordable street food from around the world. For authentic Viennese food, we recommend the Beisl away from tourist zones — Schnitzel with potato salad is often available from just 10 euros.

Public Transport

The Wiener Linien offer an excellent network. An annual pass costs only 365 euros — that's one euro per day.

Free Events

In summer: the Donauinselfest (free!), Film Festival at Rathausplatz, and concerts in Stadtpark.

Saving Tip for Accommodation

Furnished apartments on a monthly basis are often cheaper than hotels and offer a kitchen for self-catering. At Levante's Living you'll find stylish apartments in Vienna — all inclusive, transparent, and fair.
